Darnell decides to take the job and use it to gain the money he needs. Along the way, Darnell teaches James the ins and outs of prison life and helps him to toughen up. As James gets closer to his prison sentence, Darnell discovers that he has been lied to and must find a way to get his family out of the situation in which he has put them. In the end, Darnell and James form an unlikely bond.
